BOMBS 2012 was quite the event at 6months pregnant! We decided to hold a mini clinic or 1 day clinic by the request of participants last year. Lucky mama to be…
Back in Monterey California, we once again teamed up with MORCA (Monterey Off Road Cycling Association) Lead Coach Henrietta swept the day away with her top notch beginner basics with our newbie participants. The best thing about Henri’s skills is that she always gets the ladies back on the bike even after the clinic weekend is over! We have even seen some of the BOMBS participants become active members in MORCA! That us what we hope for, is to build on the local cycling associations membership….
The Bay area weather cooperated for us the whole morning and afternoon. There were bright blue skies and sunny warmth all day. Starting with seat adjustments and pedaling basics we rode off to the skills practice area. Working on build speed in turns, switchbacks, and breaking, we were ready for a skilled ride.
The best part about riding through the old intergarrison trails are the canopy of oaks and smooth swooping single track. There was a CCCX race course set up for the following day. We practiced on some of the trickiest parts of this course. These BOMBs were riding tough by the end of the day! Lunch was BBQ birthday party at a fellow MORCAN’s house back in Monterey. What a great way to end the day w/past BOMBs participants, local cycling club members and dear friends. This pregnant mom was ready to call it a YEAR end at Bicycles Yoga and You. See you next year.. +1
Thanks to local sponsors like On The Beach Surf Shop and Monterey Motors offered service gift certificates. We also had Paceline Productions, Tough Chik and and of course Luna Bar donating generously, making some sweet schwg bags.
This 2nd annual Albuquerque event hosted by Women Riding Well, affiliates of Simpatico Cycling Studio is where it is at for bicycle friendly businesses. Each summer the local fan fair of cycling advocates, bike shops, non profits, fun rides, yoga for cyclists, cycling events, etc… come out and display their goods and services in one place. Plus it gives those in the business to network with others in efforts to join forces and build a stronger cycling community in the hood!
Ghost Bikes Albuquerque was neighbors with BYY, gearing up for their local Can You See Us Now ride. Bringing bicycle awareness to the community in one large pack! There are several Ghost Bikes up over town. Ghost Bikes are small and somber memorials for bicyclists who are killed or hit on the street. see http://www.dukecityfix.com/group/albuquerqueansforghostbikes
Can we say PRE RACE YOGA or YOGA for kids? This Zia Rides event turned out to be one for the Kids! Most of them signed up for the Enchanted loop as a team to ride a portion of the course mapped out just for the young ones. Well, these kids knew where it was at with a nice yoga warm up. Thanks for coming out and supporting the Bicycles Yoga and You!

The best thing about Sea Otter is the people in the industry, making friendships that last year after year. We at BYY love seeing small businesses grow into big businesses as the loyal cycling community takes part in purchasing their products weekly, monthly and yearly. You have never seen a severe economic downturn in the business of cycling athletes. We put our money where our passions lie.
Some of our favorite vendors at SOC are Touch Chik, Dirt Rag Magazine, IMBA, Dude Girl, Cog Wild, Cliff, Lara Bar, Nunn electrolyte recovery tablets, Osprey, Green Guru, Bicycle Gems, Honey Stinger, and Pivot Cycles just to name a few. We expect to see some of these companies joining us in our efforts with Babes On Mountain Bikes as a few already have.
